Donald Trump Attitude to Women in Work not a Surprise

Donald Trump’s attitude to women in work is not a surprise after my time in the ICS and day-job with self-proclaimed ‘alpha-men’ such as Muttley. It’s a surprise more men haven’t complained about ‘alpha-women cougars’ such as Dastardly. The people in my job still largely support the bullies, as long as they are not the targets, despite one student worker committing suicide before I returned to the shops, after working for a decade just in sports grounds.

University and Atheist Society Examples

Rebecca Watson (aka Skepchick sceptic writer) started a social media fiery debate in 2011 when she objected to being propositioned in an elevator at an atheist convention.

Richard Dawkins joined the debate, sarcastically (and correctly) comparing that incident to the plight of females living under Islam:

Dear Muslima,
Stop whining, will you. Yes, yes, I know you had your genitals mutilated with a razor blade, and… yawn.. .don’t tell me yet again, I know you aren’t allowed to drive a car, and you can’t leave the house without a male relative, and your husband is allowed to beat you, and you’ll be stoned to death if you commit adultery. But stop whining, will you. Think of the suffering your poor American sisters have to put up with. Only this week I heard of one, she calls herself Skep”chick”, and do you know what happened to her? A man in a hotel elevator invited her back to his room for coffee. I am not exaggerating. He really did. He invited her back to his room for coffee. Of course she said no, and of course he didn’t lay a finger on her, but even so… And you, Muslima, think you have misogyny to complain about! For goodness sake grow up, or at least grow a thicker skin. (Wikipedia) — Richard Dawkins.

No Sexism When Rewarded?

I wondered too about the ICS relationship between the Head of Department and his student/secretary. How did that start? Was it at the Hawaii conference they both attended after flying to the other side of the world?

While I’m against work sexism in general, and especially against vulnerable young women, I must admit that my concern about the ICS example is partly personal, as the Head of Department was one of the upgrade tutors who delayed me two years, and the student started her PhD after me, and then took a lot of the work in our field. Then they got engaged just as I was leaving!

Islamophobia over Chavophobia

Although Islamophobia could have been considered widespread in the U.K. at the time from the term’s use in the media, it was the groomed/seducing? student who got all the work and promotions, despite being an international student and Islamist, while I was a British student who wanted to write about the grooming of British children and persecution of the working-class in a time when the only political incorrectness allowed was against my demographic.

A couple of years later Owen Jones wrote a book similar to my theme called Chavs, and it became a best-seller, elevating him to media political celebrity status. A missed opportunity for me, because of my Head of Department, who was more concerned with chaperoning his student/secretary/fiancée.

Jones missed the grooming scandal out of the book, and it wasn’t properly uncovered until after New Labour left power.

I think I’ve written great books since, especially Werewolf of Oz and XaW Files, but I’m still being kept down by elitist members of the upper classes, and jealous members of my own, who are able to convince others I shouldn’t have been awarded a doctorate, or even that I’ve graduated as a doctor at all, because I’m still working in a minimum wage job, and my books aren’t best sellers!

University Challenged

It was also surely a missed opportunity for the department, university, city and country, who are supposed to value successful publications highly; and especially when higher education is supposed to be facing a funding crisis, and the country was in an economic depression, with New Labour having spent all the money.

Was the Head of Department a Donald Trump style alpha-male, or a gullible man seduced by an ambitious student. I don’t know, but I know he pushed her ahead of me, and surely that was corrupt sexist cheating?

He may just be financially astute, like an academic pimp, grooming a cash cow?

Still a Scandinavian Equality Feminist

I’m still a feminist with a small f though, although she went way down in my estimations, having previously appeared to be a strong independent woman. My feminist icons are women like Debbie Harry, Taylor Momsen and members of Femen, who act as they speak.

Not that it would have mattered to the student, as I was just lowly competition; and as a critic of Islam, an enemy. I wonder if she is playing the big feminist now, having moved to one of my favourite countries, which has one of the best gender equality policies in the world.

I’d decided to leave the university, and especially the department, after my scandalous upgrade delay anyway; and wasn’t interested in her in any way other than as a colleague, as I was behaving myself sexually… unlike the Donald Trump-style tutors?!

Available to buy or borrow on Amazon and some great big bookshops.
