Germany has been the best team in World Cup 2014, so they deserve to win tonight. Whether they will or not is unclear, more greenYgrey, as Argentina has done enough to win a few tough games on their way to the final and have Lionel Messi in their team.
Hi, it’s Martin ‘Werewolfie’ Adams with yet another satirical comedy sports report from Brazil’s World Cup 2014.
Van Gaal Galling Mistake
Netherlands beat Brazil 3-0 last night to make me think that they should indeed be in tonight’s final v Germany.
Their first goal was ironically scored by Robin van Persie from the penalty spot, four days after he was taken off by Louis van Gaal before the penalties v Argentina.
If van Gaal had been thinking more outside the box in the semi-final, as he had done with the great greenYgrey goalies substitution in the quarter-final, as well as inside the (penalty) box for the penalties, maybe the Dutch would be in the final tonight!
Germany v Argentina
Germany deserve to win the final because they have scored more goals and played better football than Argentina, with the 4-0 win over Portugal and 7-1 win over Brazil the most memorable.
Moreover, while Argentina has the best player (and greenYgreyer, as shown in the accompanying image!) in the world in Messi, Germany has the World Cup’s all-time top scorer in Miroslav Klose; as well as great attacking players like Thomas Muller and Philipp Lahm.
Argentina’s next best players to Messi have been their defence, epitomised by Javier Mascherano.
So, it’ll probably be a tense match, and boring for the casual neutral viewer, but Germany’s semi-final v Brazil might have been expected to be the same.
